The PTI established a three-member committee on Sunday to hold a dialogue “on the ongoing political crisis in the country,” a day after Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) emir Sirajul Haq launched a “consensus offensive” to bring the government and opposition closer together.
As per an assertion gave today, PTI pioneers Pervaiz Khattak, Ejaz Chaudhry, and Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed will hold a discourse with JI.
After meeting with PTI Chairman Imran Khan and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at their homes in Lahore, the JI chief made the new development.
Haq suggested, during the meetings on Saturday, setting up a committee to find a larger consensus for holding elections in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and eventually the entire country.
Both PM Shehbaz and Imran valued Haq’s endeavors and guaranteed him of their full collaboration, concurring that races were the way forward to haul the nation out of winning financial, political, and sacred emergencies.
Sources in the JI advised First light that as a feature of his endeavors to carry all gatherings to the arranging table, Haq likewise wanted to meet PPP pioneer Asif Zardari after Eid and anticipated a forward leap in the following fourteen days.
Asif Ali Zardari, former president and leader of the PPP, also suggested earlier this week that all political parties meet together to agree on a single election date.
To accomplish this, the PPP has established a three-member committee consisting of Senator Yousuf Raza Gillani, Federal Minister for Commerce Syed Naveed Qamar, and PM’s Adviser on Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Qamar Zaman Kaira to convince government allies to initiate the process with the Imran-led party.
The three PPP leaders’ primary responsibility is to persuade the PML-N and JUI-F to discuss all issues, including elections, with PTI in order to end the current crisis.
Over the most recent couple of days, accentuation has been given to discourse between every one of the ideological groups in the country.
Today’s Dawn editorial read: Talk while seated at a table. Together, break bread; sever the ice. All the nation’s key leaders need to do is that. Disaster is the only outcome of this nation’s steep downward trajectory. Already, a lot of harm has been done; there may not be a lot of time left before a full scale fiasco becomes inevitable.”
It added that “inflexible egos have no place in a democratic political system” and that politics required compromise.
